Ararat gets new mayor, who is a huge fan of his
The first part of this story starts to unravel on November 17, 1987. One of the new residents in the village of Haropi is a man called Tzimisceb. Tzimisceb is described as a young man, with a strong Jewish identity who has been converted to Islam. He is also a friend of a fellow resident named Yigael who works at a local newspaper. Yigael also has a Jewish background and goes by a similar name (Abraham).
Tzimisceb begins to see signs that Tzimisceb may be an Islamic convert. He starts to notice that the villagers in his village don't dress like their neighbors in the West. Yigael, however, has been telling everyone in the village and Tzimisceb's family that they are Jewish and Tzimisceb is even taught that all Jewish people, including himself, are descended from the biblical Abraham, grandson of Abraham's mother. Tzimisceb is now convinced that there may be a relationship between his family, the Torah and Judaism. His family is of Jewish descent, he says. He then starts hearing more about Muslims and the concept of Islam. His father and grandfather are both dead. But his older brother says that the "other" is still alive, living in Yemen. Tzimisceb believes that the other one is the person responsible for killing him, and he also believes that his family is the true cause of death. This last part is the last one you'll hear because the village, for reasons not known to him, suddenly erupts with riots in the street. Many people are injured and some are killed. But Tzimisceb keeps his calm and looks out to see whether everyone has left the area.
As the riots break out, Tzimisceb feels overwhelmed. He does not know what to do next. He goes to Yigael, whose grandfather was killed. She wants Tzimisceb to leave the village and that they will work with Tzimisceb's family. She says to the other people in the village that they should leave the village because they are not connected to Tzimisceb's family. Her friends and neighbors also believe that the other villagers are related to them and they think the other villagers are traitors. This convinces Tzimisceb that there is a connection between his family and the village. He begins to leave and Yigael and the other villagers with him. He then walks out of the village to the surrounding hills where his mother resides. The next day he continues to walk around Harop

Bogus recruiters mar australias seasonal workers with low wages, a culture of coercion and long wait times, and the absence of meaningful protections for victims of sexual violence
If anyone ever doubted the power of mass media and Hollywood, it is these scurrilous allegations that broke the case of a 17 year old Aboriginal girl being allegedly raped in Sydney, Australia in 2009. This story took the media by storm as it demonstrated the vulnerability of young Aboriginal women and their plight against the lure of cheap labour. I am writing to tell you: No further sensationalist reporting was done, this girl was not a 'targets list' for a movie to put up for auction, her story remains unsolved by most journalists, there is no evidence this has happened anywhere else, and the media have been completely irresponsible in reporting on this story.
The Sydney High Court
A court heard on the 6th January this year that the young girl was trafficked by an 18 year old Sydney man to a remote part of the north-west to rape her in his backyard while another man watched.
The case was also highlighted by a New York Times feature on a case where this young girl was allegedly trafficked by a 30-something Australian man to the north-west to rape and sexually assault her in his house.
The woman in question was reportedly offered as much as $100,000 for sex and was not charged with any crime during her ordeal, as she did not wish to cooperate.
It is estimated that 2 million girls are sexually exploited and trafficked each year. A full article in the New York Times is required reading, if you are considering doing business in Australia.

Frequently, journalists are asked to reveal if they believe their sources, and when not to.
This is where I was taken last week.
